TOPIC: FEET SHOD WITH PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL AGAINST POWERS

TEXT : Ephesians 6:15
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace

Memory Verse : John 16:23
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

FOCUS
One of the commandment of God is that we should go into the world and preach the gospel. It’s actually a commandment and not an admonition. Evangelism is a commandment, God wants us to go into the world and how do you go? You go with your feet shod with the preparation of peace. The gospel itself is a peaceful gospel that is why the Bible says anywhere you get to and they don’t accept you, dust your feet there and walk away.

Evangelism is not by force, you don’t win people into the kingdom by forcing or enticing them. There are things that we call the work of salvation. When a soul is ready to be harvested into the kingdom of God, the soul automatically yield and respond to the message of the cross, no need for enticement, going about the street and telling people things that are not biblical. You don’t threaten people for them to be converted neither do you forcefully bring people into the church.

Asking people to come or attend a program is not actually evangelism. It’s should a bait that when people come, they may decide to stay back. But this morning we are looking at the gospel as a sword against powers. Everyone on the move evangelizing for Christ, God defends them before powers. He sent them two by two and he empowered them. You can’t be for God and God will not be for you, you can’t be on the go for God and God will not be for you. A wise man said; there are two things God cannot do for himself, he cannot evangelize and He cannot worship Himself and that is why He has assigned us to go into the world and preach the gospel. When last did you talk to someone about Christ, when last did you ask him for give you a soul. I do this alot, I tell God please give me a soul today and somebody will just walk in and I share the scripture with that person and the person is been led to Christ. God bless you !

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Why should we sharpen our sword? We sharpen our sword against powers. The only way our sword can defeat powers is when we are ready to preach the gospel. You can be in any department in the church but evangelism is the core gospel. You are actually a witness in God’s kingdom,an ambassador of his kingdom by witnessing those things you have seen in him, those things you have heard, the blessings you have received, go out and share with somebody, disciple someone, bring someone to the kingdom.

There are different ways of evangelizing, not enticement. There’s a difference between enticement and evangelizing. Evangelizing is telling someone the gravity of the price Christ paid on our soul. Enticement is just to fulfil all righteousness.

The message of evangelism is clear; the Lord reigneth. He has been reigning over powers, principalities. The more you understand, the better. God will never leave us without a witness, He wants us to tell people how beautiful the gospel is. The gospel delivers, the gospel saves, it strengthens, encourages, does a lot of things that you need to share with people. As you do this, God will ensure no power, principalities overcomes you.
