FOCUS
Today, we are looking at taking the armour of righteousness against principalities. What is the sword we need? We need the sword of righteousness. Having on the breast plate of righteousness where you will be able to counter the devil and defeat the kingdom of hell by your righteousness. What is righteousness? Righteousness simply means your stand with God, you are looking at God and He is saying yes, that is my son, that is my daughter.
Just like the way Psalm 1 said it, blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly or sit in the seat of the scornful. There’s something this man does, his delight is in the law of his God, in his law he delights himself day and night. He is so righteous that he will not do evil. The Bible was talking about Job that he was an upright man. When you are righteous, it shows. Righteousness simply means you are right with God, you have nothing to fear and worry about, you are not afraid of the devil because you know you have nothing that belongs to him with you. You are not a sinner, your sin has been blotted out by Jehovah, you are not doing what will make the heart of the father to be grievous. That means you are taking the armour of righteousness against principalities and powers.
LESSON
Isaiah 11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
We are looking at armour of righteousness against powers, principalities. Until you are righteous, things will never be right with you. The reason people go from prayer house to prayer house many atimes, is unrighteousness. Somebody is a blatant liar, wants God to show him mercy and he keeps lieing. Somebody is fraudulent and yet afraid. Don’t you know when you are a perpetrator of evil, fear naturally becomes that person’s lot.
God doesn’t want you to live in sin. Sin sinks any man; a wise man said, each time you sin, something dies in you. Your righteousness is the target of the enemy. When you are a constant sinner, you won’t have the boldness to approach the throne of grace. But when you are someone that God has help then you are able to tell God that Lord, look at the men of God, see how I have served you. You are bold and the Bible even told us that the righteous is as bold as lion. When you are righteous, you are bold, you are not afraid if evil tidings. There’s a proverb in my place that, when they are shouting thief, you are not afraid because you have not stolen anything. But if you are guilty, the person is already afraid knowing that his hands are not clean. That is why you must come to this understanding that, you must never dance around sin. This is another way to it, somebody said if you carry petrol, you don’t walk around fire. The fire of life does not have timetable. If you don’t sin, you don’t need to be afraid of principalities and powers. You already have what it takes to combat with them. Don’t forget that God doesn’t waste his time on people, God is intentional.
