TOPIC: EVIL ASSOCIATION
TEXT: Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Memory Verse: Proverbs 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
FOCUS
This morning, we are looking at another vision killer and I call it evil association. No matter how strong you are spiritually, if your company is wrong, your accomplishments will be wrong. Many people have undo their vision by the friends they keep. Association determines your allocation. When you walk with evil people, evil cannot be far from you. The question this morning is, who is your friend, who do you associate with? If you relate with a fraudster, you will learn his ways and become one. If you relate with the godly, you will be godly because light begets light.
You can’t be greater than your association, you can’t be the only light in the midst of darkness, people will put off your light. Why don’t you go for people of like minds, people who see what you see. Don’t go for people that will talk you out of your vision, people that will tell you, God cannot do it. To him that believeth, all things are possible.
God respects company that’s why in the beginning God said let us make man. The word ” let us ” means God recognizes the force of company. If you are going to be great, make friends with the great, if you are not going anywhere, make friends with people that are not going anywhere. When it comes to association, you don’t need prayer. Once you choose your company, your company chooses your destination. A wise man said there are three things that will change your life in three years. The books you read, the friends you keep amd who pastors you. So, you can imagine if all your friends are not going anywhere and you want to be the only one standing out, it’s not possible. God respects company and that is why He said you should choose your company by yourself. You don’t let your friends choose you, you choose your friends and as you do that, God bless you in Jesus Name. Amen

Proverbs 16:29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. 16:30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
There are two categories of people you must never make friends with. A violent man, a whisperer, a froward man, that one that swears strive. The Bible is complete, it says a froward man is a whisperer, when you are passing, he has something to say about you, they have a way of communicating. He has nothing to offer, always whispering.
Looking at company, it means it’s not one person, the scripture is not referring to one person as association but referring to more than one. It means this person has another friend, who has another friend and that friend has another friend. When someone is passing, they are the ones telling themselves, look at this person, he said God called him look at him. They make comments about everybody, there’s no time they don’t have anything to say.
Never make friend with a froward person, a violent man, someone that is quick to anger. Not only that he is quick to anger but takes judgement quick, they don’t forgive, they separate friends, they are quick to judge. Have you ever met a violent person before? He has nothing to offer you. Stay away from them if you want to fulfill your vision.

Don’t let your friends choose you rather choose them.
