TOPIC: CONSECRATION
TEXT : Hebrews 10:20
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh
Memory Verse: I concentrate my life afresh to God today for the Master’s use.
FOCUS
This morning we are looking at another facilitator of vision and it is consecration. Consecration means to set apart, to bring something out of many things for a special purpose. After you have given your life to Christ, the next thing is to set yourself apart for the master’s use. If you live like every other person, you might not be able to fulfil your vision. Vision on its own needs you to consecrate your life absolutely to God.
Vision calls for a life of yieldedness, dedication, commitment with determination of
laying your hands on the plough and you don’t look back. We don’t determine the vision God gives to us, He determines it before the foundation of the world. In my little walk with God I have discovered that every vision requires a level of consecration. The more you are consecrated, the more your vision enlarges.
From our opening scripture, what does pure consecration mean? It means you are saying Lord, if not for you there’s no other person. If your presence is not cleared from evil works, the devil will be using you and you will think it’s God using you. That is where we need to exercise caution, total dependence on the Holy Spirit. You can’t fulfil the vision you didn’t originate and that is why vision must be step by step approach. If you don’t understand it, you will miss the steps. God is so wonderful that He has given unto us the power to consecrate our life unto God. Consecration facilitates your vision.
LESSON
Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
In our focus ,we have looked at consecration and we say consecration means to set apart. From the scripture above, Barnabas and Saul was consecrated unto God for ministry . Their Consecration birthed a vision , saying separate me Paul and Barnabas. If you don’t pray, if you don’t subject your flesh to divine process, you may not be able to do exploit for God in His kingdom.
God is mindful of us but wants us to be vessels of honour, we must come to a point in God whereby we have made up our mind to do the will of God, come sun, come rain and this is what Consecration is all about. Little consecration, little vision. Every man that has made exploit in God’s kingdom are men who have consecrated themselves to God.
God wants to use us but does not want to use people who are not set apart, who are not ready to live for Him because He does not want to share His glory with anyone in your life and that is why consecration is needed. Once you have made up your mind and set yourself apart for the master’s use then God knows that yes this one will return to me to give me all the glory. Until this is done, the journey of salvation has not began.
New birth should make you consecrate your life unto God, you have to keep doing it, it’s a daily thing. That you consecrated yourself yesterday, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it today. The more you consecrate yourself, the more vision expands with new revelation on your side.
PRAYER FOCUS
Father deliver me from every spirit of impurities that will hinder my consecration.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Until you consecrate you life to God, you can not fulfil your divine vision.
Consecration births glorification
