TOPIC: MEEK/QUIET SPIRIT
TEXT: MATTHEW 5:5 “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
MEMORY VERSE: ZEPHANIAH 2:3 “Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.”
FOCUS
This morning, we are going to be looking at another way that we can ascend to the hill of Signs and Wonders and we are looking at Meek/Quiet Spirit.
Our text says “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Now what does it mean to be Meek? To be Meek is to be humble, it means you are teachable, and you are open to corrections. You cannot command Signs and Wonders and not possess a Meek Spirit because Signs and Wonder on it own blows you up, it will make you feel too important, and it will lay a necessity on you that you will not understand this is why you need to be humble to maintain Signs and Wonders.
To the proud, there is nothing that they have even if it is a needle that they will not blow up. But when you are humble, no matter what God has committed to your hands, you can manage it which is why he said that the meek will inherit the earth. Even when God uses that person to raise the dead, he will not show off. When God uses that person to change people’s lives, he will not puff up, he will not become arrogant. Many people that have little results are making noise and that is why they say “Empty barrels make the loudest noise”.
When you are Meek, God will guide you, God will teach you, and he will lead you. But when you are arrogant and your spirit is not quiet, you can easily miss your way.
NOTE: Nothing triggers Signs and Wonders like possessing a Meek Spirit.
LESSON
ISAIAH 29:19 “The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.”
We are talking about who will ascend to the hill of Signs and Wonders and we said that it is someone that possesses a Meek and a Quiet Spirit.
The book of ISAIAH 29:9 says “The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.” So when you see people rejoicing in the Lord, it is a pointer that they are Meek. Those who are not Meek will not rejoice in the Lord. The reason is that what gives them strength is their achievements and they believe they did it themselves. They do not acknowledge the God factor and God does not want us to live that kind of life. God wants us to live a life that is filled with Thanksgiving, a lifestyle that recognizes his leadership and rulership, and his help on a daily basis.
When you are Meek, the joy of the Lord will be increased in your life and you will know that God is working something for you and that he is mindful of you. Do not forget that God is the strength of your life and what ever it is that is wrong God can correct it. He knows what he is doing and he is already in the picture of your tomorrow.
Any time God does something for you and you do not acknowledge it, it shows you are proud. Do not be proud. And do not forget that it is only the Meek that rejoices in the Lord. God bless you.
