TOPIC: JESUS CHRIST
TEXT: Acts 10.38 ” How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Memory Verse: Matthew 4.3 “And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.”
FOCUS:
This morning we will be looking at the life of our Lord Jesus Christ as the head of all good works. Acts 10:38 made us understand that Jesus was not just carrying out good works physically He was also doing good works spiritual. That is, he was good spiritually, physically, financially and He was not disobeying the laws of the land. Remember when he needed to pay tax, He simply asked them to go fishing and for the first fish to be caught, they should open up it’s mouth and fetch a coin there to pay the task collectors; He didn’t call down fire.
Jesus was a man who subjected Himself to authority; He was never rude neither did He ever act in disobedience. He was a man who understands that He still needs to subject Himself to God even though authority has been given to Him in heaven and on earth.
Often times, you see a man who claims to be rich in good works practically disobeying instructions; such person is not rich in good works. Your good work should exceed that of the pharisees and Sadducees. It should get to a point where you know that God is with you, by you and for you. And that should make you go extra miles to be kind to people and do that which you would not be able to do ordinarily. God bless you!
Do not forget that whenever you are confronted with people, God wants you to be a blessing to them. Anytime you meet people, you must decide to be kind to them. Minister to people and help them solve problems. Humanity is waiting for you. The Bible said that the whole world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons and daughters of God with groaning which cannot be uttered. How do you manifest? By being rich in good works. You cannot manifest when you are not rich in good works. God bless you in Jesus name.
LESSON:
John 3:2 “The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.”
Jesus was so rich in good works that everyone He met marveled at him. They wondered what manner of man is this, that is full of compassion, care and love; and they concluded that only when God was with a man that he can be so rich in good works.
Good works announces you and make you relevant to your world. Those not relevant are those who never engages in good works. I know that God is very mindful of His children but He has given us the ability to respond to our inner abilities to be kind to one another. Until we show kindness, we do not represent God. The proof of knowing God is showing Kindness to others; just like the good Samaritan to the Jew. Many times, people profess that they love God but they lack good works to back it up. Good works will always announce you and make God be with you.
You cannot be a doer of good work and lack divine presence; divine presence is all it takes to be with a man who loves God because when you will be kind to people, considerate and selfless. You will be mindful of your neighbor that you wouldn’t want evil befall to him/her but when you are selfish, you will not be considerate at all. God bless you. Don’t forget that God is mindful of you.
There is something Jesus did in His day: He sow because He is not ready. The Bible said, the soul that is not lifted up in Him, that soul is not upright. You cannot be upright and not be full with good works. God bless you. Amen.
