TOPIC: VISION EMPOWERS
TEXT : 2 Kings 6:2
Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. 6:3 And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. 6:4 So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. 6:5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

FOCUS
This morning we are looking at vision empowers. Vision ignites strength into you that is only you that knows that you are been driven by a vision. The sons of the prophet told Elisha that they needed to enlarge the place they are staying. So, they got into the bush to get beams to enlarge the place of their tent and while they were going, the axe fell and then you see how they stood.
Vision is the only thing that empowers your Spirit, soul and body. It makes you go extra mile, makes you do the impossible, makes you stay without food, where there’s vision, there’s power; where there’s no vision, there’s no power. Vision makes you to take risk that naturally, you will not want to take. I have not seen a man who genuinely has vision and does not go extra mile. Have you seen a scientist before, he keeps performing different experiments just to get something out of nothing.
When they wanted to build the tower of Babel, if not that God stopped them, they were ready to. Vision empowers you , makes you go extra mile, makes you do the impossible, you see the invisible, makes you say yes when everybody says no. Vision is so powerful that there’s a power packaged in it, it strengthens you day and night that you keep running your life without looking at time or anyone.
LESSON
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us
We are looking at vision that empowers and we have seen how vision empowered the sons of the prophet to get a beam to build because they felt where they are staying is too small, so they needed to enlarge the place of their tent.
In the pursuit of your vision, there will be things that will discourage you, you will come in contact with distractions, people that are to tell you it’s not possible. Your are going to come in contact with people who will let you know that God cannot ask you to do this, so you have to lay them aside and pursue because your vision ignite a fire in you that no one can quench.
When you see an athlete where does he get his energy from? Is it from food; no it is his vision to go home with the trophy, that makes him put his best into the race. When you see a footballer, what is his target? It is the medal. When you see a scientist who is always conducting a research, what is he after? It is the result, he wants to discover something that nobody has discovered. So, your vision automatically empowers you. When you see someone in ministry who God has called to carry out a particular assignment, he gives it all it takes. You have to master the act of laying aside weight, sin that easily beseth you, there are a lot of things that will be coming as distraction you have to lay it down because your vision automatically infuses strength into you. Vision empowers, stay with your vision because you have mastered the act of laying aside every weight that wants to distract you from pursuing your vision.
