TOPIC: MIRIAM
TEXT: Exodus 15:20 – 21
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
Memory Verse : Psalms 89:1
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
FOCUS
In this last series we are going to be looking at people who gave thanks to God in the Bible, either after an encounter or a testimony, a victory. Thanksgiving must be a lifestyle before it can take you up, until your life becomes a sweet smelling savour to God, it may not bring a sweet smelling offering to your hand.
The Bible says we should emulate those who through faith and through patience obtain the promise. The first person we are looking at today is Miriam. You remember when the children of Israel left Egypt, the horses of Pharaoh followed them. While they got to the red sea, the Lord parted the sea. The same red sea that became their stepping stone to a higher ground, became the destruction of the Egyptians.
This is why after crossing, Miriam took her timbrel and thanked the Lord. Today is the 26th day in the last month of the year, what shall you say unto the Lord? There are many red sea you have crossed this year, many things were meant to destroy you and you survived. There were so many things the enemy planned that the Lord redeemed us from. The Lord has triumphed gloriously and showed Himself as God over your situation. I don’t know what to say, but I want us to say, Lord you have done me well. Gratitude is for altitude. When you thank Him for small, He gives a bigger testimony
LESSON
Psalms 116:12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
This should be our question this morning, what will you render to the Lord for all His protection towards you in 2022, for all His benefits, for all that He did, for His kindness of mercy.
I have nothing to give to God than my praises. We must come to that understanding that only praises we can give. We have nothing to offer Him. If we give Him money, it’s not enough except the fruits of our lips. And we must do this genuinely and whole heartedly.
For His provision, protection, healing and deliverances.
PERSONAL CONFESSION
With my mouth this morning will I sing praises to the Most High.
