TOPIC: VISION DIRECTS

TEXT : Genesis 46:1
And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. 46:2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. 46:3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: 46:4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 45:13
I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

FOCUS
Today, we are looking at Vision and direction. In our opening scripture, God was offering Jacob a direction via a vision. Even though vision is for an appointed time but before the appointed time comes, you must know what to do with your life; the day to day approach, step by step must by understood by you.

For Jacob, God has already given him a plan, what He intends for him to do. When you get to Egypt, this is what you should do and it comes with a promise. And Jacob eventually became Israel and that is the Israel everybody visits today. Why? He didn’t just carry vision, he allowed God to direct him. Vision without direction is frustration without knowing.

Many people are waiting for clarity and don’t ask for direction. You must ask for direction; Lord this is what I want, how do you want me to go about it ? It is when you have settled all of this that you can say that God is on your side. But when you lack direction, the future will not be bleak . No matter what He has said or done, He still wants you to come to the understanding of Him directing and leading you always.

God is mindful of us but we must be conscious of divine direction. If He doesn’t direct you then your vision has no destination. Vision directs, your vision is your direction; vision maps out the road to direction and how to follow it everyday.

LESSON
Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

We have seen in focus how vision directs. God does not want people to live anyhow, all the ways of a man are clear in his own eyes but the Lord weighs the spirit. Why should I ask for direction? Every step man wants to take, looks good to him. God is the one who directs the steps of man. You have to understand that vision provides ladder , day to day, step by step.

In Genesis 46, Israel took his journey and in Proverbs 16,spirit weighs and steps are reviewed by God . God wants us to lean on Him that is why the Bible says, the preparation of the heart in man and the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. But all the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes but the Lord weigheth the spirit.

Since it is God that has the only authority to weigh what is inside people’s spirit, then there’s a need for us to cry for help, let cry for direction. God wants to direct us but we must come to the understanding that God is mindful of us. He doesn’t want us to miss our steps, He wants to direct us but we must come to the understanding of Lord, please come and direct my path and this is the only way we can enjoy our vision.
