TOPIC: JAEL (DECISION)

TEXT : Judges 4:18
And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle. 4:19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him. 4:20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No. 4:21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

FOCUS
We are looking at another character in the Bible, a woman who fought her battle with strategy. We will look at the strategy in Jael’s life and how she won her royal battle that made her become a royal vessel.

Barrack and all his men has been pursuing Sisera to kill him, he was the enemy of God but Jael used hospitality to destroy him. Sisera just wanted a cup of water but Jael went extra mile, gave more than he requested for. Naturally, Jael cannot confront Sisera but because of hospitality, she hosted the enemy of the Jew and took advantage of his weariness to strike him.

It is not everybody you face and be quarreling , there are times you need to be nice to people, so that they can play into your hands. This was what Jael did and it is not a sin. Sometimes, the battle that the royal vessels fight are not battles of sword or words but battles that you only need to strategize. Jael was precise and it was her precision that gave her cheap victory. God bless you.

Judges 5:24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.

There was something that was said about Jael. Because she killed Sisera, she came into the hall mark of faith. She became a prominent woman because of the victory she got through precision. You don’t watch things go out of array in your family, don’t watch the enemy destroy your family members. Go to God in prayer and strategize. Strategize somuch that you will be able to confront any enemy that confront your family.

Jael was just a wife, the Bible didn’t even tell us how many numbers of children she had, it wasn’t necessary but there was something she did that history has not recovered from and that is, she strategize. She was precised, sensitive, determined, she had all these virtues and when opportunity came, she applied it. Don’t allow opportunity to pass you by without been strategic about it. Royal battles are fought strategically and not with strength and with somuch energy, you have to strategize. If you don’t strategize, you may not have enough strength to face the enemy.

God is a multifaceted God. The same God who allowed Esther to conquer Haman by banquet is thesame God that made Jael conquer Sisera with just a cup of milk. These are strategies that maybe we will think they are carnal, they are not. In our days we have the Holy Spirit to help us fight our battles, do the impossible, do more than Jael and Esther. It is time to win cheaply, to fight without sword, to ask God for strategies over our enemies who have disrupt us over the years. I see God making out ways so that we can emerge as royal vessels.
