TOPIC: MEDITATION/ THINKING

TEXT : Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Memory Verse : 1 Corinthians 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

FOCUS
Today we are looking at another way God prospers people. This is a bit spiritual because you can’t see it and this is the creator’s prescription for success. The first step is this book of the law, you have to keep reciting it, you have to lay the word of God in your heart because if it’s not in your heart, it can’t be in your mouth. While, you store the word of God in your heart, you have to keep pondering on it, meditate on it, think it over, look at it critically.

It is when you have analyse and mediate that you can begin to do according to all that is written there in. If you don’t pay careful attention to the scripture, you cannot do what is written therein. God has designed the scripture for our prosperity, there’s a blessing in it. So, in as much as I am confessing it, speaking it over my life, I am bond to succeed. It is also my duty to critically look into it. I have met a few people who will tell you they have been chanting the word but not seen the result. Why? It may be that they are just chanting it, confessing it and not doing what is written there.

Until you do it, you cannot have it. Faith without works is dead, you can’t confess what you are not paying attention to do. Don’t just confess, mediate and observe to do and you will make your ways prosperous.

LESSON
Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

It is when you have carefully mediate that you can hear God accurately. God has no other way to speak to His people than through His word. God does not contradict His word, He speaks to you from the scripture because the scripture guarantees divine direction and only God can direct the path and feet of a man.

So, when God wants to lead, He will use the written words to speak to you either the rhema or the logos but you must have come across the word. No wonder, the Bible says; my sheep hear my voice and they will follow, the voice of strangers they will not hear. So how do you differentiate the voice of strangers and the voice of God? It is when you have successfully mediate on the scripture. How do you know a man? You know a man when He speaks to you. When you are familiar with someone, you recognize the person’s voice even in the dark.

If you are not conversant with the voice of God even when God is speaking, you will doubt it. That is why I encourage people to be students of the word because when God wants to speak, He just brings one of those words you have stored in your heart out and amplify it either in your spirit or ear. Do God speak to people audibly? Yes and people receive in their inner man as a witness. In this season, you shall be blessed, successful and prosperous.
