TOPIC: Obedience.
MEMORY VERSE: Romans 1:5
[5]By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name.
FOCUS: Hebrews 11:8
[8]By faith, Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
We understand from the scriptures that obedience is the gateway to all supernatural manifestations.
He that has my commandments and keeps it is the one that loves me…and I will manifest myself to him (John 14:21). Obedience is what provokes all the supernatural manifestations in a believer’s life.
We saw a series of supernatural manifestations in the scriptures and they were all raw products of obedience.
Pharaoh’s army is behind, the Red Sea is in front; oh God, what do we do? He said to tell them to go forward and as they went forward, the Red Sea gave way and they fled.
God showed up and the sea gave up; the sea parted the way for God’s people through obedience.
Obedience may appear costly and difficult but the result is always priceless, obedience is key to all supernatural manifestations in a man’s life.
So, develop yourself to be delighted in obeying God’s word, that is the only platform through which God manifests Himself to His people.
LESSON: Philemon 1:21
[21]Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
John 2:5, Mary said, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it and as they did that, unconnected things connected; water and wine. There’s nothing to ferment, so how do you expect water from wine? Not that anything was added to it, just water! And yet the wine was sweeter than the one they bought in town- obedience.
He just showed up and then all the pots were filled with brand new wine through the act of simple obedience.
What is in Obedience?
We discover from the scripture that obedience speaks louder than any level of sacrifice a man may ever offer.
Now that you want favour from God, engage in favouring the interest of His kingdom as a lifestyle and then you have provoked this favour as a result of obedience to his commandment.
“……seek ye first the expansion, the enlargement of the kingdom of God and every other thing shall be added by divine favour”.
PERSONAL CONFESSION: I am an obedient child.
PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, I receive Grace to obey you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: As we develop intimacy with God through obedience, the supernatural becomes natural.
NOTE: For obedience to be done supernaturally, it must not proceed from reasoning but from Faith.
