TOPIC: Living in Daily Victories.
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 15:57
[57]But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
FOCUS: 1 Chronicles 29:11
[11]Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
Living in victory will likely mean different things to different people. I’m not talking about the “prosperity gospel” here. Sometimes, life is good and other times it’s bad and there are the in-between times that are mostly okay.
Yet, through it all, you can live a victorious life as a Christian. That doesn’t necessarily mean that all your prayers will be answered exactly the way you want or expect them to but it means that you are committed to growing in the Lord. You want to follow his will for your life, you understand that there will be hills and valleys to go through and yet, in all those moments, God will be with you.
LESSON: Isaiah 25:8
[8]He will swallow up death in victory, and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
The Victorious Christian life is the life that is lived by Faith, in a moment-by-moment surrender to God. The Victorious Christian life is rooted and grounded in Faith.
The whole of Hebrews 11 tells the stories of men and women who by Faith were victorious irrespective of the foe. Even the cross of Christ was not a defeat for the Lord, but a victory mark and that’s the victory believers share in.
The Victorious Christian life is a life lived in triumph over everything in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, 1 John 2:16, Romans 8:35, Revelation 21:17.
The Victorious Christian life naturally leads to a defeat of death itself and a glorious reward in heaven.
PERSONAL CONFESSION: I am a Victor and not a victim.
PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, I embrace your supernatural love that will make me live in total victory. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Only the Supernatural Love of God through changed lives can solve the problems that we face in the world.
NOTE: Christianity is either supernatural or nothing at all.
