TOPIC: YOU ARE ONE OF HIS BRANCHES
TEXT: John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
Memory Verse: Genesis 49:22 “Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:”
FOCUS:
We are still taking the series on who we are in commanding signs and wonders. And today we are talking about us as the branches.
Jesus told us ‘I am the true Vine and my father is the husbandman’ and he made us to understand that we are the branches in John 15:5 It means every believer is incorporated into the branches. “…He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” This is profound enough. Identity was clearly started; we are not the tree, we are the branches!
To command signs and wonders, you must know that you are a branch of the vine that commands signs and wonders and the knowledge of this make it all easy! You are already incorporated by redemption, by salvation, by sanctification to be a part of the vine! This is not about you, it is about the body that incorporates you.
You are an integral part of the whole! If you were not needed, you will not be here. Do not let anyone talk you into believing you are a nobody. That is why our scripture said I am the vine, ye are the branches:…” The vine is singular, the branches is plural therefore, there is no way a branch can be taken out of the vine without the vine knowing. God has incorporated you! The whole of you is in the vine and if the vine is a vine of signs and wonders, them you cannot live short of it! God wants you to know that you are a branch of His vine and you are destined to be a sign and a wonder. Amen.
LESSON:
Hosea 14:6 “His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.”
We are looking for at believers as branches and looking at who is a branch? The Lesson scripture says ‘His branches shall spread…’ How do you spread? By the manifestation of signs and wonders. It continues by saying ‘…his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.’ Why? Because there is something about you that will keep glowing and attracting men to the kingdom of God just as the Hebrew women were noticed and identified to be different from the Egyptian women. When we are talking about being a branch, it is a life of reflection!
When your life is reflecting the vine, you don’t need to struggle to do it just as the branches of an orange tree automatically produces oranges. Once the branch is connected to the vine, it automatically produces fruits and that is how we are in Christ! Except we are not connected then we will not produce that is why the Bible says that He is like a tree planted by the water side that bringeth forth it’s fruits in it’s season and it’s leaves does not wither. So you can’t suffer hardship because you are connected to a vine.
You are a sign and a wonder; a city set up on the hill that cannot be hidden; you are the salt of the earth; there is something about you that is uncommon! You are not an ordinary person, you are a sign and a wonder! Except you are not connected to the scent of water, you have to blossom! Even if you are not blossoming right now, all you need is time because a tree does not grow immediately, it has to go through the processes for growth! Do not let anyone harass you; you are a branch and all you need is time to bring forth. I want you to shout this morning “ALL I NEED IS TIME TO BRING FORTH! I AM A BRANCH OF A VINE OF SIGNS AND WONDERS!” God bless you. Amen.
