TOPIC: YOU ARE GOD’S SERVANT.

TEXT: Ephesians 6:6 “Not with eye service, as men pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;”

MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 4:1 “Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.”

FOCUS
This morning, we are looking at another identity of believers that qualifies them to be a Sign and a Wonder and I said that we are God’s servants.

As soon as you give your life to Christ and accept the call of God, you accept to be saved and baptized in the name of Jesus, you automatically become God’s servant. It is not an office like many people have taken it to be but a description of believers. Every believer is God’s servant. If you are in the kingdom, you are a servant but if you are outside the kingdom, then maybe you can refer to some people as God’s servants.

Ephesians 6:6 Says “Not with eye service, as men pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;”. So we are servants of Christ, we are people of God, we are people of honor and we are people who understand that God is our master. I do tell people that there are times you have to relate to God as your master and there are times you have to relate to him as your Father.

Christ is different things to different people but today, we are looking at ourselves as servants of God. Who is a servant? A servant is someone you can call and send on errands. A servant does not have a will. A servant does not desire or choose where to go because it is the master who determines where he sends him to. God does not want us to live a life where we become bosses but to remain his servant. It is a privilege to serve God, it is a privilege to know God and it is a privilege to be called a servant of God. We are his servants and there is nothing as glorious as being his servants.

Do not forget that one of the criteria that qualifies you for Signs and Wonders is to be God’s servant. And if you are already God’s servant, then keep serving because you will soon become a wonder to your world.

LESSON
Titus 1:1 “Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;”

We are looking at “God’s servant” as part of the identity we need to carry to command Signs and Wonders.

Apostle Paul, a servant of God and an Apostle of Jesus Christ became a servant of God because he came into the faith of God’s elect. He was acknowledging the truth which is after godliness and that truth is about righteousness so you can not be a servant of God and be living in sin, you cannot be a servant of God and be living in errors, and you cannot be a servant of God and be doing all manner of silly things. Servants of God are servants because they acknowledge the truth that is after godliness. They come into the faith of the Son of God. They accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and follow the pattern of sanctification and cleansing. They are people that are redeemed by God. They are sanctified by the blood. They are people of God who understand the foundation of holy living.

I am sure you know who Apostle Paul was before his conversion. He was a man that did much evil to the kingdom of God, he was killing Christians, and he was enforcing a law that made an enemy of God before his encounter. Paul the Apostle enjoyed calling himself a servant of God because that is the greatest honor any child of God can come into. And just like I said that being God’s servant is not an office but a name that describes a redeemed soul so anybody can be God’s servant.

Paul was one of the most influential leaders of the early Christians Church. He played a crucial role in the Gospel. He wrote more than two-thirds of the New Testament even though he never saw Jesus. And because he was a servant of God, he was able to live a transformed life. He knew he was chosen before the foundation of the world and he lived with that consciousness. Be a servant of God. God bless you.
