TOPIC: NAOMI (DECISION)
TEXT : Ruth 1:8
And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.
Memory Verse: Ruth 3:1
Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
FOCUS
Today we are looking at another royal vessel who fought her battle strategically and her name is Naomi. Naomi’s husband died and she was left with her two sons who were married to Ruth and Oprah. But things went bad for her, she was faced with battles she couldn’t explain, it got so bad that she arouse with her daughter inlaw to the country of Moab. Where Naomi was, there was a serious famine, she wanted her daughters inlaw to go back.
She pleaded with them to go back because she didn’t see the future. We are looking at the power of decision in fighting strategic battles. There are times in life you just have to take a decision. Decision leads to a destination. If you don’t decide, you may never arise at a glorious destination. Decisions are not wishes or mere desires, they are things you have to consciously and deliberately do for yourself. Be intentional about your decisions so that God can be at your side.
This was exactly what Naomi did, she got up and pleaded with them to return, she said the Lord has dealt with her. Was it God? No. It was a royal battle, she never knew God was preparing her to become the grandmother of our Lord Jesus Christ, she never knew there was a greater crown. For every battle you fight, there’s a greater crown waiting for you. And that is why winners must not quit. Quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit. When you fight and win, a greater crown lays ahead. You must make up your mind to take right decisions, don’t let situations confuse you, don’t let the devil tell you it is over, it is not over until it is over.
LESSON
Ruth 4:14 And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. 4:15 And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him. 4:16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it. 4:17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
We are still on royal vessels fight royal battles. Through out the Bible, even our Lord Jesus Christ fought before he was given a crown that at the mention of Jesus every kneel should bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord.
If you don’t understand the path of glory, there’s no easy path to glory. Greater glory attract opposition and the opposition is not to destroy you. They only have one assignment to make you loose your royalty. So, once you succumb to the opposition, you have lost your royalty. I pray that will not be our testimony.
Look at all the experiences that Naomi went through, she went through hardship, trouble, she was homeless , in famine and suddenly she took the right decision. That is why I said, royal battle must be fought strategically. You can imagine her not taking the right decision, she would have perished. But right decision leads to right destination.
When Obed was born, Naomi and her people said this is better than seven sons. Why? She took a decision to go back if Naomi had not taken that decision, Ruth wouldn’t have met Boaz. Decision has a way of mapping you out for a new beginning entirely. If you play with your decision then you are playing with your destination. Every royal vessel has a royal battle to fight. Don’t forget, winners don’t quit and quiters don’t win. Don’t quit in the midst of battle note that every battle is to give you a clear crown.
PERSONAL CONFESSION
I receive grace to take right decisions at all times like Naomi.
PRAYER FOCUS
Father deliver me from every spirit of indecision and procrastination in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Until you take right decision you will never arrive at a good destination
Until you decide your destination you can’t decide rightly.
