TOPIC: DAVID (BOLDNESS)
TEXT : 1 Samuel 17:34
And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 17:35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
Memory Verse: 1 Samuel 18:14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.
FOCUS
We are looking at another Royal vessel who fought his royal battles with boldness and wisdom. Definitely not only boldness but boldness was a principal thing in all the battles David fought. Both battles against him and the one he took over from people.
David was the son of Jesse and while growing up as a young boy, the father sent him to the bush; His royal battles started. On everyone that wears the crown, there’s a battle bell that rings. It the battle we are afraid of but it’s actually designed by God to announce the arrival of a royal vessel. You can’t be royal without an announcement and until you conquer your battles, you won’t be announce
to your world as a conqueror.
Every royal vessel has a royal battle. It is this battle that announces us to our world. Look at David, he was in the bush battling with the sheep while he was meant for the throne. Samuel came and said we will not sit down until David comes. David has a testimony; the lion and the bear came after him and he used his hand to tear the bear. That is boldness. The sight of a bare alone is enough to frighten someone.
Without boldness there’s nothing that would’ve been possible. He went after lion and bear who came to eat his sheep and he killed them. No matter the weapon you are with ,if you are not bold, you are not ready. Boldness has a way of paving way for people, boldness is a weapon of warfare in royal battles.
LESSON
1 Samuel 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?
We are looking at David the man after God’s heart. The man that lion and bear came to attack his sheep and he went out after them with boldness, he used his bare hands to kill them. No wonder he fought somuch that God told him that he will give him a child of rest . There was a man called Goliath that confronted the Israelites, he was said to have defiled the army of Israel and David came out to challenge him. That boldness could not have been an ordinary boldness but a divine boldness. Even the way David spoke, it was an utterance of boldness, he was too sure that he was going to bring the head of Goliath down, he was afraid of his sight or his armoury. The Bible said David brought out his sling. Wow what a wisdom, what a boldness.
God wants us to face our Goliath and not run away from them. As a royal vessels, in as much as you don’t like trouble and you are not ready to face your Goliath, they will keep threatening you. Sometimes in life, you just have to come out boldly and face your enemy in the name of the Lord. Don’t face them in any other thing, the Bible says some trust in chariots, some in horses but we will trust in the name of the Lord. And those who trust in the Lord will be like mount Zion that can never be removed. God doesn’t want us to trust in our flesh but in His Name. And when we trust in His Name, He will surely deliver us. Every royal vessel has a royal battle to fight. Strategies your battle and win them technically like David. God bless you
