TOPIC: MURMURING /COMPLAINING

TEXT : Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world

Memory Verse : Psalms 144:14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

FOCUS
This morning we are looking at another enemy of gratitude and it is, murmuring and complaining. Our opening scripture is not an admonition but a commandment because God knows that murmuring and complaining will puncture your gratitude.

When you see a murmurer, he is never grateful. It is either it is not enough or it’s toomuch. A grateful heart does not have time to murmur. When you see people who are engaged in perpetual murmuring and complains about everything, go and check it, they don’t understand that it is God that worketh in them both to do and to will of His good pleasure.

God wants you to take things easy as they come, live your life one day per time so that you can be worry free, stress free, anxiety free and murmuring free. Those who complain and murmur do not have enough time to be grateful to God. God wants us to live a life of gratitude, so He doesn’t want us to keep seeing the negative part of life rather, the positive side of life. A murmurer does not thank God, a complainer does not thank God. The only person who thank God is the one who sees God as one who worketh His good pleasure in his life.

LESSON
Numbers 17:5 And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.

We are looking at another spirit that fights gratitude and it is complaining and murmuring. To show you how God hates murmuring and complaining, any where God sees complaining spirit, He gets so annoyed with the situation that He doesn’t mind destroying a whole city. Am sure you remember the story of the Israelites, God gave them manna, they began to complain and murmur and God began to kill them.

Murmuring is a very terrible spirit, it deprives people of joy. Whatever you murmur upon, will depreciate in value to you. If you keep complaining about a particular person, the person starts loosing value to you. Life is value, you value things and people but when there is no value, it means there’s devalue and that is what complaining and murmuring does to your spirit. The more you complain, the less value you place on that thing and that is why many people loose their blessing because they devalue God’s blessing.

Every blessings you have received this year, I want you to thank God for them because if you don’t thank God for them, you can be sure that loss is inevitable. It is my prayer in this season that there shall be no loss. The only thing that makes people to appreciate is gratitude and gratitude also makes your blessing to appreciate.

PERSONAL CONFESSION
Father I receive grace not to murmur or complain about anything.

PRAYER FOCUS
Father deliver me from murmuring and complaining spirit.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Until you stop complaining you will never comply with gratitude.

Nothing annoys God like an ungrateful heart.
