TOPIC: MODERCAI (TRUTH)

TEXT : Esther 6:1 _On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. 6:2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 6:3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.

Memory Verse: Esther 3:6
And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

FOCUS
We are looking at another person in the scripture who fought his battle strategically and his name is Mordecai. Mordecai was a gateman, a man that was helpless at the gate but had a God. He was a royal vessel, so royal vessel has nothing to do with physical status of life, you don’t have to be this or that to become a royal vessel. Mordecai understood the power of truth.

So, we are looking at how to use truth to fight your battles. What did he do? There was a plot against King Ahaserus, Mordecai got to know and he leaked it before the king, he told the king about the plot and the coup was exposed. But there was something strange, Mordecai was not rewarded and that lingered for a long time until the king came. And what did the king do? He didn’t do anything.

I am sure Mordecai must have been praying and suddenly God remembered him. You can’t be truthful and not be remembered. The king called forth and said what has been done to the man who exposed the case and they said nothing has been done and the king rewarded him. We shall see in our lesson how Mordecai was greatly rewarded. Until you speak the truth, you cannot fight certain battles correctly, the truth is what prevails. Mordecai used the truth as a sword to prevail over Haman.

LESSON
Esther 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.

We are talking about how Mordecai fought his own battle. Be fought his battle with truth. Haman was a wicked man, he wanted to overthrow king Ahaserus but the coup did not work.

The truth will always prevail. There is an adage that says ” even if lie travels for 20 years, the truth will come one day and meet it” that was the testimony of Mordecai. He was a man that was contended been a gateman but he has been taught by the law of God that He should not do wickedness. He delivered the king even before Esther became the queen. What a servant! How many servants are still like that ?

Mordecai went all the way to get the truth but there was something that happened, the king did not reward him. When you are speaking the truth Don’t worry about reward, it will come later, it may not be instant but it will come. The king didn’t so anything but it didn’t stop Mordecai from speaking the truth.

In that same book of Esther, He told Esther if you keep quiet, don’t forget you will perish. That was a bitter truth to the queen. Mordecai is known for truth. What are you known for? Are you a vessel of honour, are you a royal vessel? Every royal vessel must learn how to speak the truth in the face of anything, no matter the adversity or who used present. Truth is one of the characteristics of royal people. Fight your battles wisely, learn to speak the truth. Don’t let it be that it is situation that is confirming you, get to a point where you can speak the truth in the face of anyone
