TOPIC: DON’T DEVOUR OTHERS WITH YOUR WORDS

TEXT: Galatians 5:15
But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

FOCUS
This morning we are looking at another thing we need to take heed unto. For us to become a royal vessel in the hands of God we need to ensure our words does not devour other people. A man will be justified by the words of His mouth, whether negative or positive. Your words actually set traps for you, your words control your world. If you speak well about others, definitely good will come to you. But if all you do is to devour people with your words; this includes, government, dignitaries, religious leaders, you will reap definitely whatever you sow.

God has set a plan in order, I call it kingdom principles. Until these principles are observed, the result you might not be able to manipulate it. The principles of God can’t be erased, they are everlasting. There’s nothing that destroys a man’s life like when you speak evil of people especially those who have not done anything against you. Sometimes, people relegate people by their words and because of this, the body of Chris is divided.

We need to be united to defeat the enemy. But when we devour one another with words, then we are due or we can’t escape the enemy from devouring us. While going to devour people with your words, carrying rumours that are not true, you are only dividing and working against the plan of God. Paul the Apostle warned that let every man be careful how he builds on this foundation. God bless you, you are a royal vessel you don’t need to devour people.

2 Peter 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Take heed how to speak about other people, don’t devour. The Bible makes it clear that whatsoever a man sows, He will reap. So, if you are the type that always speak evil of people, definitely you can’t be free of the consequences of your words. Presumptuous are they, self willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries. They are self willed, they are not afraid, nobody matters to them, they speak evil about everyone. When you say this one is this, they will say it doesn’t concern them, they speak evil of every one, nobody means anything to them .

The church needs to wake up, where there’s unity that is where God is. So, why are we fighting ourselves? So if truly we are going to heaven, we carry the same blood of Jesus, the same father, the same son, then we have the Holy Spirit .

When what is the problem? God has already given us a prototype of how to handle offences in the Bible. If your brother has anything against you, go and meet your brother, talk to him. If he doesn’t agree, call another person. These are prototype for reconciliation. But in the church sometimes, people are not reading the scripture then we keep fighting, we keep praying dangerous prayer for the other person to die.

Don’t forget, am not against warfare prayers but why speaking evil of people. If you look at it critically, it does not really worth it. Sometimes, when you finished devouring the other person, you now noticed that you have only magnified the person’s flaw above the person’s good trait. Anybody can a blessing to you, even God turns evil to good. Look at when mother Eve fell, the devil thought it was over with humanity; then Christ came and brought grace and that is the grace we are enjoying today, the grace that makes you and I a royal vessel.
