TOPIC : FAITH OVERCOMES
TEXT: 1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Memory Verse: Revelation 21:7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
FOCUS
Today, we are looking at faith that overcomes. Faith overcomes, no wonder in the book of Revelation the Bible says, he that overcometh will I give. So, there are things to overcome on this earth, you have to overcome yourself, the heaven we are going is for overcomers.
The word overcome means, there’s a silent battle, there are things that are against that you need to overcome; you have to strive against battles that are against your destiny, you must overcome them. Faith is a weapon to overcome all the ferry darts of the enemy that whatever will be thrown at you, the weapon of faith must be employed to overcome. If you don’t overcome, you can’t survive certain things.
We are meant to live a life of victory but we cannot obtain victory except we overcome. Make sure your faith is consciously put to use, to overcome certain things.
LESSON
Hebrews 11:25 – 26 _Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
Faith is for overcomers, Moses when he was come of age refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. It was by faith, not by confidence. Moses overcome the spirit of wrong identity, he chose to suffer, he made up his mind, he decided to bear, to endure and make sure he gets to a point where his life can be transformed.
How many people today are ready to suffer? People are just living; it is that same faith that fights, that overcomes. There are things you must consciously overcome this year. When I say overcome, it doesn’t necessarily mean something negative but something that will give you eternal blessing.
