TOPIC: The Barren Land.
MEMORY VERSE: 2 Kings 2:21
[21]And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
FOCUS: Job 39:6
[6]Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
God’s word has some very specific promises when it comes to the area of barrenness.
‘So you shall serve the Lord your God and he will bless your bread and your water, and He will take sickness away from the midst of you, no one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in the land, I will fulfill the number of your days.’
One of the reasons why the land is barren is because of disobedience and so it was commonly inferred that barrenness could be due to sinfulness or simply a lack of blessing from God.
Many lands are cursed because the blood of the innocent has been shed on them.
I believe the story of Cain and Abel is very relevant today because God told Cain, the blood of your brother cries unto me from the ground.
Until we deliberately address barren lands we may never enjoy fruitfulness.
LESSON: Micah 7:13
[13]Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
Barrenness symbolizes aridity or improvements of sterility or unfruitfulness.
Barrenness is manifested biologically, territorially, financially, ministerially, generationally, mentally, professionally, spiritually and personally.
When dealing with the spirit of barrenness you are dealing with the spirit of stagnation and limitations.
It seeks to curtail your life, your status, your ministry, your church, your family and your finances.
BUT IT CAN BE BROKEN!
Tomorrow we shall deal with how to break free from all types of barrenness.
PERSONAL CONFESSION: I refuse to dwell in a barren land, my land shall be fruitful.
PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, deliver me from cursed grounds in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Hope can turn a barren land into a fruitful field.
NOTE: Until your land is fruitful, you cannot be fruitful.
