TOPIC: Apostle Paul

MEMORY VERSE: Romans 1:1
[1]Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God.

FOCUS: Luke 8:10
[10]And he said, Unto you, it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

I believe that one of the reasons why Paul could walk with such a level of confidence and faith was because of his revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Despite the afflictions, persecution, imprisonment, and awareness of the limitations of this life, Paul said we are always confident, he didn’t say we are constantly fearful and apprehensive but instead always confident, always bold, always sure and always guaranteed.

LESSON: Acts 14:8, 10-11
[8]And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:
[10]Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
[11]And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

Apostle Paul’s sources of confidence were:

  1. He was always looking up to God.
  2. He always kept an eternal perspective of things.
  3. He knew what God had prepared for him.
  4. He knew the Holy Spirit.

Living by the Spirit is living by the way of obedience and holiness. These people were not gullible, they understood the difference between ordinary experiences which could be explained in human terms and miracles which required a supernatural agent. They lived in an age that respected things of the spirit versus our materialistic age that wants to trust only empirical proof.

When things happen by the power of the Holy Spirit, early Christians didn’t try to explain them away and that is why they could easily walk in the supernatural, I urge us to learn from that.

PERSONAL CONFESSION: I receive faith to operate in the supernatural.

PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, I receive the spirit of faith that comes from the word of God in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: I will walk by faith even when I cannot see.

NOTE: We walk by faith and not by sight.
