TOPIC: SHARPEN YOUR SWORD THROUGH THE SPIRIT OF MIGHT
TEXT: Isaiah 11:2
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Memory Verse: Ezekiel 17:8
It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.
FOCUS
This morning we are looking at how to sharpen our sword and it is through the spirit of Might. Might talks about strength, ability, what you can do. There’s nobody that will carry sword in his hands and not be strong. When you are not strong, you are not physically fit to use your sword. Every sword requires a level of might.
The spirit of Might is one of the seven spirits of God, it means strength, power. Not physical strength but spiritual strength. God is not talking about you physical ability, there are people that are physically giant but in the spirit, they are dwarfs. It talks about the warrior spirit, the strength of God, what you can do without looking back.
God wants to empower us so that we can run and not be weary, we can fight and not faint. Many are weary, many hands are weakened, many are looking for encouragers because their strength is failing, many graces needs upgradement. When God bless you with might you will run and not be weary, you will run and not faint. Sharpen your sword with the spirit of Might, its the spirit of power, it makes you to be in charge.
LESSON
Isaiah 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
2 Timothy 4:17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
Having a sword is not enough, you must know what to do with it. Incase you asking, do I really need strength? There’s a question we want to answer. Shall the prey be taken from the mighty or the lawful captive delivered, but thus say the Lord even the captive of the mighty Shall be taken away… If you want to enjoy salvation of God and you want to be delivered, there’s something you have to do. The prey can be taken on the account that you have the spirit of Might.
Don’t let the devil deceive you by telling you that you are okay but when you know, you will realize you need this spirit of Might, you need to be delivered, even if you don’t want to be delivered, what about your people around you. Even the lawful captive can also be delivered but the person that will go to the dungeon of lion to go and deliver must be strong.
The battles of life are not for cheap people, you have to be vibrant in the spirit, be spirit filled come to an understanding when you say yes Lord am ready, whatever has been fighting my family before now, I am ready to fight it. The prey can be taken, the captive can be delivered only on one condition ; when you have the spirit of Might.
PERSONAL CONFESSION
I receive the spirit of might and courage to exercise my authority over the unjust in the Name of Jesus Christ.
PRAYER FOCUS
Father deliver me from the spirit of feebleness that will not allow me to pursue my career/vision in life .
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Until you receive the spirit of Might, your sword will remain feeble.
