TOPIC: Honour is a Reward for a Quality Service unto God.

MEMORY VERSE: Genesis 15:1,15
[1]After these things, the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
[15]And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age

FOCUS: Psalms 26:8
[8]LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

Our God is so honourable that out of his honour, he gives unto men who deserve honour by service.
Divine honour refers to the high esteem, respect, and favour that God bestows upon individuals who have earned His approval and pleasure, it’s a supernatural recognition of one’s character, actions, and commitment to God.

God honours people in different ways:

1. Exaltation from one position of influence to a greater one
2. Favour: God can grant individuals His favours, opening doors of opportunity to bless their endeavours.
3. Recognition: God can publicly recognize individuals, acknowledging their faithfulness, obedience, and good works.
4. Reward: God can reward individuals with rewards such as crowns, inheritance, and eternal blessings.
5. Intimacy: God can grant individuals a deeper level of intimacy with Himself, revealing His secrets sharing his heart and communing with them.

LESSON: Hebrews 5:4
[4]And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

Divine honour comes from God and him alone.
God said to Abram, “I am your shield and your reward, God has different ways of rewarding people, especially his servants who have served and served graciously.
These are simple ways to earn God’s honour in service:

1. Fear God as you serve him
2. Obey instructions
3. Seek God’s favour
4. Live a life of integrity
5. Humble yourselves
   The honour that comes from God is not automatic. It’s earned.

PERSONAL CONFESSION: I am an honourable member of God’s kingdom.

PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, deliver me from a life without impact in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Honour is not just a word, it is a way of life.

NOTE: To honour someone is to be loyal to them through thick and thin.
