TOPIC: Forbearance as a Pillar of Fruitfulness.
MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 5:23
[23]Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
FOCUS: 2 Timothy 2:3
[3]Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Forbearance is the willingness to:
- Endure difficult circumstances
- Tolerate unpleasant situations
- Show patience and self-control
- Refrain from retaliation or judgement.
- Extend mercy and understanding.
Forbearance involves delaying immediate gratification which many Christians lack and overlooking minor offenses as Christ commands.
A true Christian must practice empathy compassion and trust in God’s sovereignty.
LESSON: Colossians 3:13
[13]Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man has a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Forbearance is a must if we must bear fruits. We must start it in the spirit by developing patience which helps in fostering forgiveness and mercy.
This enhances emotional fruitfulness, reduces stress and increases emotional intelligence.
When we forbear one other, we strengthen our relationships and resolve conflicts by building trust and understanding which will lead to teamwork and collaboration among brethren.
By embracing forbearance you will experience an increase in fruitfulness in your spiritual, emotional, relational and personal life.
It’s not who wins that matters, it is how many people that wins through you.
PERSONAL CONFESSION: I will forbear others.
PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, I receive grace to forbear others in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The strongest man is not the one who always wins but the one who always forbears.
NOTE: Patience is the companion of wisdom and forbearance is its crown.
