TOPIC: Distractions.
MEMORY VERSE: Psalms 88:15
[15]I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
FOCUS: 1 Kings 20:40
[40]And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.
One of the biggest unintended consequences being talked about by both believers and unbelievers is Distraction. Constant inundation to constantly flashing, updating and changing screens is harming our ability to focus and think about deeper things for extended periods.
Considering what Isaiah says about people who find his messages too challenging to read and understand, that should seriously catch our attention.
Let’s consider what Ephesians 5:15-16 says.
The world would be an untamed, chaotic, and unsafe place if humans did not work fruitfully, multiply to fill the earth and subdue it. There is no doubt in my mind that technology whether a shovel or a phone can better our way of living but if we do not use tools with wisdom and awareness, these tools can become burdensome idols that manipulate and control us and if we do not use technology mindfully, we can face many unintended consequences.
LESSON: 1 Corinthians 7:35
[35]And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
- Unchecked Distractions make the gospel unfruitful in us.
- Unchecked Distractions cause us to forget about judgement.
- Unchecked distractions cause us to divide our commitment.
- Unchecked distractions close off communion with God.
In conclusion, experiencing the supernatural is not a distant dream but an attainable reality waiting to be unlocked. By addressing these hindrances head-on, you create the pathway for God’s power to flow unhindered and as you undergo soul transformation, elevate your expectations, shun offense, strengthen your faith and choose optimism you will witness the supernatural manifestations of God’s power in your life.
May the Lord grant you the Grace and wisdom to overcome these hindrances and embrace the miracles that await you in Jesus’ name.
PERSONAL CONFESSION: I am free from all forms of distractions.
PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, deliver me from distractions in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Focus comes from eliminating distractions.
NOTE: Don’t blame the distractions instead, improve on your focus.
