HEAVEN’S DAILY BREAD WITH BOLATITO PRAISE

TOPIC: Pride.

MEMORY VERSE: Leviticus 26:19
[19]And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:

FOCUS: Proverbs 8:13
[13]The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Sin exploits our vulnerabilities and this is made even much easier when our guard is down. As Christians, we are in a particular kind of danger when we begin to think that our spiritual maturity makes us invincible to specific temptations and sin.
When we become Christians, we start to experience victory over sin, this is the evidence of the Holy Spirit’s power in our lives.

As we continue to grow in our walk with the Lord, we may be encouraged by how far the Lord has brought us from the people we once were but our spiritual growth can make us uniquely susceptible to the sin of pride. When pride takes up residence in our hearts, we begin to think that we are stronger than we are, we begin to think that perhaps there are some temptations worth entertaining because they are interesting not compelling and of course we presume that our spiritual maturity will enable us to walk away before we are in any real danger.

We forget that the devil is crafty, the world is relentless and the appetite of the flesh is insatiable.
Once this train of behaviour is noticed, instant caution should be taken.

LESSON: 1 Timothy 3:6
[6]Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he falls into the condemnation of
the devil.

If you are a follower of Christ, he will not let you go, He will allow what is necessary so that you will again come to see the goodness of the Lord and pursue a right relationship with him.

Sin will not have the final word because it is no longer our master and if we choose to turn our backs on the Lord and his call on our life, he will not obligate us to follow him but even when we wander and the Lord seems to have left us to our own devices, he longs for our return.

When we as Christians find ourselves defeated by sin, just remember that not all is lost, for our Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love (Psalm 145:8) and if we will turn from our sin and seek the Lord once again, he is only too glad to deliver us from all manner of pride and use our failures to strengthen our faith for our good and His glory.

Living in the supernatural can be maintained and retained if we deliberately run away from sin especially the sin of pride which makes it tough for supernatural living to be retained.
Once God senses pride, he walks away and leaves the person.
Spiritual pride is as dangerous as any other pride of the flesh.

PERSONAL CONFESSION: I am enough with Jesus on my side.

PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, deliver me from the spirit of pride in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.

NOTE: Pride comes from focusing on ourselves, and meekness comes from focusing on God.
