In this series, I will be writing on the hindrances to Supernatural Living. Living in the supernatural is more than a desire, it has to be a deliberate decision but some hindrances serve as loopholes that one must look out for if one must live in the supernatural.
TOPIC: Doubt.
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Timothy 2:8
[8]I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
FOCUS: Acts 10:20
[20]Arise, therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
Lack of faith has dire consequences, as evident in the history of the Israelites (Psalm 78:31-32). The absence of faith poses a significant obstacle to the manifestation of the supernatural. Jesus pinpointed unbelief as the cause when his disciples questioned their inability to heal the sick. Matthew 17:20.
Chronic self-doubters are more focused on not failing than on achieving the task itself, they find it difficult to enjoy their work because they are filled with anxiety as they approach certain tasks.
If we do not believe in the things of God then we will miss out on enjoying a relationship with God in our lives.
Most importantly, when you do not believe, you miss out on receiving the salvation of the Lord which keeps you from perishing.
LESSON: Matthew 21:21
[21]Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
What does it mean to live confessionally? Well, here’s what it doesn’t mean.
It does not mean that we are to blindly trust in ourselves as men or even in the church and pretend that human error isn’t a reality. Confessional living does not mean masking our doubt with a smile, hiding our frustration from others or telling ourselves that we aren’t allowed to doubt.
Instead, living confessionally looks very different.
First, we have to confess our doubts to God and others, we can talk to the Lord, confessing that we doubt that God is good, that he is in control, or that we are truly saved. We can confess to him our struggles because he knows what we are going through.
Talking it out with other Christians helps too, letting others in on your struggles as well while they open up on their struggles as well. Confession creates a community of believers that can help you process your doubts.
The supernatural world is a world where battles are lost because of doubt and doubt also opens doors to massive attacks, so there is a need for us to kill our doubts and feed our faith in the supernatural.
PERSONAL CONFESSION: I am a believer and not a doubter
PERSONAL PRAYER: Father, deliver me from the spirit of doubt in Jesus’ name. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Doubt is a question mark, and Faith is an exclamation point. The most compelling, believable and realistic stories have both.
NOTE: Believe in your heart that you are meant to live a life full of passion, purpose, magic and miracles.
