TOPIC: HOW SHARPEN OUR SWORD THROUGH FAITH
TEXT: 2Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;”

FOCUS:
This morning we are going to look at a new series entirely and one of the things we will be looking at is how do I sharpen my sword? You sharpen your sword through faith. WIthout faith it is impossible to Please God or fight the good fight of faith. Faith is a fight ????
We are taking our opening text from 2Peter 1:5. So faith is not abstract in this context there are things to add to faith. There are things that boost your faith and the first thing today is virtue and to virtue knowledge.
Now how does faith comes, faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. If you don’t have faith then you can’t sharpen your word because the sword we are talking about is a spiritual sword where in you will use to quench the fiery darts of the enemy. If your faith is not potent enough, it can’t produce good reports . You must come to a level whereby you know what to do for yourself. Faith is as important as your breath when it comes to spiritual warfare. Faith is a must if your sword must remain relevant. This faith, you have to keep growing it through knowledge, through the things that you hear(Testimonies) through the things you see; you must be able to discern between good and evil, you must consciously add to your faith to make it work. You must build it upon God’s word because faith cometh by God’s word.
Your faith must be built on nothing else but the pure word of God. Your faith must have a good foundation in Christ; you must understand that Yes, my faith is solemnly built on God’s word. If it is not God, then it is not faith! If it is faith then it is God! So, for your sword to be relevant you must get to this point in your life where nothing means anything to you except the word of God. The word of God is so Potent, so relevant and you must come to the knowledge of Christ because we triumph in this kingdom by faith. Faith is the currency for this kingdom just as money is the means of exchange for goods and services physically, in the Spirit realm, your faith is all it takes to have all that you need. Now you want your needs met then it’s faith. Your sword represent your victory trophy that means you need to keep it sharpen by faith! God bless you!

*Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Today we are talking about a brand new series and we will be looking at how do we get our sword sharpen. What is the use of a sword that is blunt? It is of no use. It only wearies you and weakens your strength but when you have a sword that is sharpen, it takes less energy. You are able to achieve more: the productivity level is high! So we see the power of strength being displayed. When you are using a sharp knife to cut, you don’t just enjoy speed, you also enjoy ease. So also when your sword is sharpen you enjoy ease and also preserve your strength.
We are looking at faith as a virtue that you need to sharpen your sword.
In this kingdom like I said earlier that faith is all we need to receive good reports for the word of God to Produce. Faith is like any world currency that is used for kingdom Business. So when you are not in faith, then you are not in God. When your faith level is low then your victory level is weak.
When you are not comfortable with a situation all you need to do is to bring out your sharpened sword that you have sharpened by faith to exercise it over every unpleasant situation. That is why the Bible said in Romans 1:17 that the just shall live by faith. What is the just living by Faith? Nothing more. You can’t live outside faith because faith is productive; faith have proofs; faith has good reports . When you are in faith then you are in God. When you are not in faith then you are outside God because you can’t come to God without faith. That is why the book of Hebrews said that if we have to come to God,it must be by faith , having the assurance that He is the rewarder of them that will diligently seek Him. Herein is the righteousness revealed that the just must live by faith. So are you Just! Do you have the sword in your hands? Sharpen it by faith. Faith without works is dead. Add works to your faith and add life to your destiny. God bless you! Amen.
