TEXT: Genesis 18:19 “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”

Memory Verse: Ezekiel 45:9 _”Thus saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD.”

FOCUS:
Today we are looking at the sword as a sword of justice. In Genesis 18:19, God had a testimony of Abraham and said for I know him that he will command his children and household after him that they shall keep the way of the Lord to do justice and judgement that the Lord may bring unto Abraham that which he has spoken.

Now what is justice? According to dictionary, justice is defined to be an act of doing that which is right without compromise. You are doing that which is right without any form of compromise. You are carrying it out as it is. Sometimes, people pervert justice. Although justice is a legal structure or system that is designed to judge in general whosoever is to be accorded benefit or punishment without any form of compromise or peruse. So when we are talking about justice, it is something that is just and right. Basically you are impartial; you are fair; you are not considering any other factor.

Now when you have your sword as a sword of justice, what is the implication?

You are able to exercise your God-given authority without compromising your stand in destiny. A lot of people compromise life; compromise destiny; compromise the truth; compromise everything in life even when it is obvious that this is wrong they will still pretend as if it is very right but when you have a sword of justice you know that you have to be fair to people and yourself and this is what justice stand for.

When you have that sword, you are able to command; you are able to execute and bring judgement and justice when it is necessary!

LESSON:
2Samuel 8:15 “And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.”

We are talking about the sword as justice. In 2Samuel 8:15, the Bible was talking about another man who exercised his sword as justice and his name is David. He reigned over Israel. Infact one of the things that prolonged the rulership of David is Justice. David was such a man who never compromised even when he took Uriah’s wife Beersheba and Prophet Nathan came to tell him that he has done a grievous thing what did he do? He admitted instantly! He didn’t beat about the bush or explain or justify his error. Immediately he went to God. The Bible said he covered himself in ashes and said Lord, I will rather fall into your hands. He wasn’t partial. This is what the sword of justice do!

When you are just, there is no power that can destroy you. It’s a state of being just; you’re fair. When you are wrong, you at admit that you are wrong; when you are right, you admit you are right. There is no in-between. You are not beating about the bush. You know there are people that when they are wrong, they don’t want you to blame them they must find other reason or the other or explain why they did that which they did even though they knew it was wrong. But as a child of God, you must come to a level that when you are wrong, you should be able to admit that you are wrong infact it’s a sign of maturity. When you are right you should accept. When you are wrong you should apologize. There are no two-way to it. God bless you!

Don’t forget your sword of justice must be used with all fairness. God said to Abraham, Abraham I know you will command your children to walk in my ways and I can trust you. Can God trust you with your sword? Today we are battling with so much trouble in the church, in the body of Christ, Why? Because people are practicing injustice and in this end time God wants people to begin to exercise their sword as a sword of justice. God bless you. Stay blessed and happy Sunday!
