TOPIC: THE SWORD OF DOMINION

TEXT: Genesis 1:26 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Memory Verse: Job 25:2 Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.”

FOCUS:
This morning we are going to look at the sword as our dominion. Your sword as a dominion; authority.
From the beginning of the beginnings, man was created to have dominion and that is why in Genesis 1:2 the bible said: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” That means before we came into here, God the master planner had already planned our dominion. Even in verse 28 of Genesis 1, the Bible said: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” So we have been given dominion.

Our dominion is not seasonal. Our dominion can only be taken when we are in Christ. Christ has given us the power to exercise dominion and because we are kings after the order of Jesus Christ, the Bible says in Colossians that He has redeemed us as kings and priests unto himself and because of this, He has given us power to dominate over every living thing and nonliving things. So if there is anything dominating you today, it is because you have not used your sword of dominion.

Dominion is when you take charge of your life and you do not allow Satan to take charge of it for you. Don’t let anyone put you under chain; it is your duty to bind their kings with fetters of iron. Don’t let any situation harrass you; it is you that is supposed to harass them. Don’t let anyone intimidate you; you are to intimidate your enemy. You are to exercise sovereignty over powers; you are the one meant to predetermine how they live. You are to stand as they bow at your feet. You are to subdue and suppress. Don’t let any power rule over you because you are to dominate.

Bring out your sword and use it as a sword of dominion. Every king has a domain and every domain belongs to a king. You are not a misfit in this kingdom. God bless you! Amen!

LESSON:
*Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.”_

Just like I rightly said that every king has a domain and every domain is ruled by a king, if God has created us as kings and priests unto himself, it means there is a particular area that has been allocated to you either by new birth or by inheritance for you to dominate over.

You are not an after thought creature, No! You were born for a purpose. There is actually something in the heart of God when He created you. He has an intent; He wants you to fit in to a particular domain so that you can represent Him as an ambassador of Christ and no wonder in Romans 6, the Bible said something that I love so much. In verse 8 and 9 of that scripture, the bible said: Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

If Christ had not died, then we can’t claim any dominion. Why? Because we lost dominion in the garden of Eden when mother Eve and father Adam went against the plan of God for their lives. The result was that they were sentenced into shame with a seal that they can’t come out but when Christ came, He began to pay the debt. Don’t forget, He never went to any bank to collect any loan to pay for us; He paid with His life.

If it is true that Christ raised from the dead which I have no doubt that he did, then we are no longer under the tutelage to be governed by Satan. Our dominion is secured. It has been restored. Christ has redeemed us from the cause of the Law that every man that hanged on a tree; He became a curse for us so that the blessings can come. And one of the blessing that can come to us in this season is the blessing of restoration of our dominion. What have you lost? We are in a season of restoration. Trust God! Believe Him! Because Christ’s death is not in vain. I am a witness that Christ is alive! God bless you! Happy weekend!

PERSONAL CONFESSION: I receive my dominion that I lost to sin and to satan back by redemption in Jesus mighty Name.

PRAYER FOCUS: Father help me to exercise godly dominion in Jesus Name.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Christ has redeemed us and restore our dominion to us back.
