TOPIC: FEAR
TEXT : 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Memory Verse : Hebrews 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
FOCUS
In this series we are going to be dealing with vision killers. Until you are aware of them you might not be able to tackle them effectively in prayers. There are things that can kill a vision, many vision never saw the light of the day. That is why a wise man said that, the greatest visioners are in the grave. Why? They never stepped out, they knew they were asked by God to do a particular thing, special people called out to carry out a particular vision but there was something that didn’t allow them carry it out.
The first vision killer we are looking at today, is fear. If you are fearful, it is not of God. God cannot give you a vision and at the same time baptise you with the spirit of fear. Fear has torments, it will not allow you to believe in yourself, take a giant step, write that book, fear will tell you who knows you? These are the voices of fear.
Fear is a spirit and you can cast it away. Fear kills vision. Many people God has asked to do a particular thing but they will never do it, that song will be in their heart but they will never sing it, saying their voice is not good enough. There are people that will never go to school, saying they don’t know anything. All these are voices of fear and that is why this morning, we are taking authority over every spirit of fear that kills vision.
Fear will not only kill vision, it also paralyzes faith, take what you have and give you what you don’t, it will torment you; anytime you remember it, it will always bring torment.
LESSON
Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
There are times fear comes from man. The fear of man is the snare of every vision. Vision needs personal faith to be fulfilled. Even though without vision the people will perish, so also without the people, vision will perish but even at that you don’t allow people kill your vision. Men will discourage you, will let you know you are not called.
If you have a vision for example, to go into catering, initially you may not even have customers; you may have to cook or bake and at the end you eat it. Don’t give up, I will not fear what men will do unto me. It is a determination, something you have to tell yourself over and over again. Today, the devotional is growing very fast
all over the world because I refused to fear or allow people to plant fear into me.
I made up my mind. Never allow anyone to talk you out of your God given vision, your vision is a little baby that is born in your heart. You have to nurture it, groom it until it becomes a giant.
Don’t give up on yourself because God has not given up on you. Don’t tell yourself, I don’t even know what to do, where do I start from. This is fear of man, send it out of your life and God will be happy. Go ahead, start the vision, write the book, do the impossible, God is on your side. Don’t forget that fear of man is the beginning of frustration. Many people have refused to step out because they are looking for man’s encouragement. Initially you may not have it but as you keep pursuing your vision, God himself will begin to send right people to encourage you to do that which God has asked you to do. Stay Blessed!
