TOPIC : ASSOCIATION
TEXT : 1 Samuel 10:11 And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?
Memory verse: 1 Samuel 10:10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
FOCUS
This morning we shall be looking at a very interesting facilitator of vision and it is called Association. What is Association? Association someone’s said, determines your allocation in life. Saul a man that found himself in the company of prophets, he began to prophesy.
When you find yourself in the right company, you will have right vision. Sometimes, the association you find yourself can kill your vision. If you want to see far, stand on the shoulder of those that has gone ahead of you in your area of specialization or the area you feel God is leading you to; just ride on their backs, you will learn from their struggles and don’t have to experience what they have experienced.
Many atimes, there are so many people who feels they want to be pioneer of a job, there’s nothing wrong in it but there’s no way God can ask you to pioneer a job that you will not have to learn from someone’s experience. God is the only one that is self sufficient man will always need another man to fulfil his vision.
If you want to run faster, you must learn how to tap into people’s grace and lean on their shoulders. It is not only in the gospel but even in academics, music industry, media, commerce, transportation, you don’t have to be a pioneer to start all over, you can just climb on the shoulder of another person and move. It doesn’t matter what happens, God wants you to associate well. Your association determines the level of your vision. Associate with vision more than you Associate with people’s experiences.
LESSON
Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Association has a vital role to play in one’s vision. You can’t desire to be an eagle and all you do is to flock around turkeys, turkeys don’t fly, they are always on the ground eating dirts. But eagles fly, they soar high. So, if soaring is your desire, turkey must be your enemy.
The size of vision is not what is important, I have heard people over the years that has told me, God told them to evangelize the whole world . That is not a problem but the question is, who is your friend? Who are the members of your company?If you make friend with who will puncture your faith, your faith will never grow. But when you make friends with those that will ignite your faith,people that will make you run without looking back, then God will be happy with you,because you have created a platform for your vision to thrive.
Nothing in life attracts vision like right association but if you don’t take time to check your association to know whether you are walking with the wise or fools. You can’t run a vision without wisdom, while all your friends are fools. Fools in the sense that, they don’t even value what you are saying, they make mockery of your vision, they tell you, you think God can use you? They water down your faith. You tell them you have a vision and all they do is to scorn, they mock you, laugh at you. You can’t be doing this and still expect to fly. When you don’t fly, you are going to just be on the floor like a turkey, making noise without Impact.
This morning, I want us to ask God for right people; right people for right vision. I want you to tell God; Lord I am ready to fly like an eagle. God bless you, make a wise decision and choose friends wisely.
