TOPIC : OBEDIENCE

TEXT: Romans 1:5
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name

Memory Verse : Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered

FOCUS
Today, we are looking at obedience as a faith booster. Obedience is doing what God ask you to do, the way He ask you to do as it is given and commanded, you are not changing or adding anything. Am sure you remember the account of Jesus turning water to wine, he asked them to fill the water pots and share it and as they were sharing it, the water had turn to wine. He didn’t ask them to pray or speak in tongues, there was no any spiritual exercise apart from fill the water pots.

When you come to God and take His totality, then your faith will be boosted especially when you obey Him. You have to obey according to faith, according to what is written, according to what is given and how it is delivered to you.

Faith is not talk, faith is act. Babies will cry for miracle, adults will ask what they should do. Immediately He tells you what to do, go ahead and obey. Mary the mother of Jesus understood this secret and she said unto them, whatsoever he ask you to do, just do it. Don’t argue, analyse, pray , fast or substitute it, just do it. Your reward comes when you obey instructions. The more you obey, the more you grow in faith.

LESSON
Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Obedience is not just carrying out instructions but doing it with the whole of your heart, no delay, no procrastination. Delayed obedience is still not obedience. When you delay, you have deny the reward. God told Abraham to go out of his father’s house. He didn’t delay, there was no need for him to think or meditate.

Sometimes, when God speak to people, you still hear things like; I want to pray about it and be sure. So it means, you didn’t hear God in the first place. If you truly hear God, you don’t confirm what the Almighty God has told you. When God speaks to you, what other confirmation do you need except it wasn’t God you heard in the first place.

Abraham didn’t confer with flesh and blood unlike today, when God speaks to a people and ask them to do a particular thing, they begin to think about it and ask people that weren’t there when God spoke to them. I remember when God asked me to star Goshen, alot of people said it wasn’t yet time and God said to me; I asked you to start.

It is you that heard God that should obey. Stop looking for man’s endorsement on divine instruction. This has killed may visions and rendered many people impotent in enjoying divine blessing because after God has spoken to them, they will start looking for man to endorse what God has said. Go out in obedience, act in obedience, live in obedience and God will exceed your expectations. It is our year of manifestation of God’s glory but you can’t manifest glory until you obey Him.

Father deliver me from every spirit of disobedience that shortens faith.
