TOPIC: GRATITUDE BRINGS HIS PRESENCE
TEXT : 1 Corinthians 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
FOCUS
In this series we are going to be looking at what Gratitude does to God. Don’t forget that God cannot thank Himself, so He made man to thank Him and worship Him. What food is to man is what Thanksgiving is to God.
Gratitude as we have discussed is a weapon that brings down the presence of God. So, when we are grateful, it brings down the presence of God. Don’t forget that the presence of God is the glory of God. Anytime the presence of God lands, it means the glory of God is around. God does not want us to live a life of no result, a life of reproach but He wants us to live a life that is full of testimony and glory.
So the more we are grateful, the more He brings down His presence. He doesn’t just brings down His presence, He brings down His supernatural power. His presence is the carrier of glory, power and all the blessings man is looking for. The more of His presence we carry, the more glory we attain. God doesn’t wants us to live an empty life that is why the more grateful you are, the more you enjoy His Blessings.
LESSON
Acts 27:35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
You can’t forcefully bring the presence of God either to your life or to a corporate fellowship. Fellowship is very crucial; in fellowship, the Bible has already given a pattern that, come into His presence with Thanksgiving and into His court with praise; so that He can attend your meeting.
So, when we are talking about the presence of God, it is entering His gate with thanksgiving. So while you are in church, God expects you to come with multitude of thanksgiving. David understood this secret so well; God wants us to be filled with thanksgiving. He doesn’t like people that complain and murmur. God wants us to be grateful, joyful, appreciative of His blessing in our life. He doesn’t want you to frown and come into His presence with complain, we don’t need to show Him what He has not done. He expects us to appreciate His finger so that He can show His hand and then show His fullness and His fullness is His presence.
When the presence of God came in the scripture above, they partake of His flesh and blood. God doesn’t want His children to lack His presence, God wants us to be full. Moses understood this very well and that was why He said ” if your presence will not go with us, we will not go ” The presence of God is the most precious thing anyone can loose and the most precious gift anyone can gain. God’s presence is everything, the presence of God guarantees rest, peace, joy. As you thank God, I see the presence of God enveloping you in Jesus Name (Amen)
