Memory Verse : Ezekiel 34:27 _And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them._
FOCUS
Today we are looking at another thing thanksgiving does and it is, Thanksgiving multiplies. What does it multiply? It multiply what you have in your hands already. From our opening scripture, Jesus asked the multitude to sit down on the grass, He took the two loaves and five fishes and blessed it, gave it to the disciples to share to the people. You could see the hierarchy.
When you are a thanksgiver, nothing moves you, you will not loose your peace over any matter. One of the reason people don’t give thanks is that they loose peace to trivial things, things that does not matter. Once peace is taken, thanksgiving is lost. That is why I said, thanksgiving is fear suppressed.
The reason people loose their peace is that, they don’t understand that they have to be at their best for God to reach them. One of the things the enemy uses to rob people is complaining and murmuring spirit. The devil makes you look at things and say its not enough. Reasoning is one of the enemies of faith and thanksgiving. When you reason toomuch, walking with God will be tough. The men were about five thousand, then how about women and children?
Reasoning will fight your Thanksgiving, it will always keep you in the realm of your five senses. While thanksgiving will shoot you from the level you are to the level you ought to be. Stop reasoning your life and start giving thanks. Thank God for where you are, where you want to be. Stop looking at what you can see, move from what you can see and start seeing what God has done. And as you do this, thanksgiving will begin to multiply everything around you.
LESSON
Psalms 67:6 _Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us._
The scripture says let everyone praise the Lord and the earth shall yield her increase. As we are praising God, the earth automatically begins to produce. Thanksgiving is so powerful that it causes your earth to bring forth food in abundance.
Sometimes, people look at thanksgiving like a religious activity, thanksgiving is deeper than that. You don’t have to feel like thanking God before you thank Him. You just have to do it, make up your mind and do it the way it’s ought to be done. Thanksgiving is a mystery and as we praise Him, there’s something that will enter the earth that will make the earth to start bringing forth.
God is not a robber, He is a rewarder. God does not owe man anything but He can give man everything. No wonder the song writer says, He is the God of everything; He owns the silver and the gold.
When you are praising Him, what you can’t even ask for, God looks at you and bless you with it. Let the people praise thee, it’s not a feeling, you don’t have to be convinced, you don’t have to feel like because if you want to feel like praising God, you may never feel like it. Because when you look at your life, there may be one or two things you may want to question God about but as you engage the weapon of praise, the Lord begins to cause your earth to yield. That same thanksgiving also send ambushment against your enemies, paralyses the enemies that are fighting against your harvest; that’s what thanksgiving does. Stay Blessed!
